Bloomingdale District
The Bloomingdale District is a historic neighborhood on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City. The district is roughly bounded by West 96th Street to the south, West 110th Street to the north, Amsterdam Avenue to the east, and Riverside Drive to the west. The area was once farmland and estates, but in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it became a fashionable residential neighborhood. Many of the buildings in the district are historic, dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s, and include rowhouses, apartment buildings, and townhouses. Today, the area is known for its cultural institutions, including the American Museum of Natural History, the New York Historical Society, and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. It is also home to several parks, including Riverside Park and Central Park, as well as numerous restaurants, shops, and cafes.
